On The March is now offering a stock version of our high end, German-wool M43 tunics. These are made with the same accurate patterns but we use American-made twill weave wool, acetate or cotton or poly/cotton blend poplin lining, and modern grey cotton or polyester thread.
The pebbled buttons are excellent repros, and at the cuff and collar are generic grey plastic 4-hole buttons. There are no hand-finish details with the exception that the buttons are all still hand-sewn.
We now have new, excellent quality repro buttons. See photo below. Some of the tunics still have the old style buttons on them, and we do NOT plan on swapping them out. Just like the Germans did, the old stock will be used up first. If you want the new buttons, you will need to pay for the time it takes to remove the old ones and hand-sew the new ones on. The charge for this $20.
The twill-weave wool is made by an American mill, while the lining fabrics are imported. These tunics are made with the same accurate patterns as our high end line!
Additionally, these tunics are hand-made by On The March, not out-sourced to China, India, or Neverherdavit.
Prices include less-expensive but acceptable quality enlisted man's eagles but the same high quality collar tabs that we use on our high-end line.

Just a note here, guys. These tunics are sold as-is. Unlike my high-end tunics, there are no free alterations on them! If you want yours tailored for a better fit, see the Alter and Repair page for prices. I have no problem with enlarging the waist, or taking in the chest a little as long as you compensate me for my time, but please don't come back to me after 2 months and complain that it's a little too short, or the waist is a little tight and expect me to make the changes for free. Most tailors will charge you $25 per hour to alter a jacket.
I may ask for your measurements so I can find the tunic that will fit you best, but a stock tunic is NOT a custom-made item. Giving me your measurements does not equal a custom-made tunic. Period.
Heer M43 Features
Wool is more green than our pre/early war wool; it has the appearance of faded early war wool.
Lining is 100% acetate, taupe or bronze/taupe in color.
Eagle is mid-war type having gray thread on fieldgray backing.
Collar tabs (litzen) are standard quality in either dark green or gray generic (no choice).
Has 3 sewn belthook eyelets at each position and straps made from lining fabric with 5 eyelets.

Wool is more grey and a little thinner than the Heer wool.
Lining is gray cotton or poly/cotton blend poplin or grey acetate (no choice).
Eagle is BeVo woven or embroidered gray thread on black wool backing (no choice).
Collar tabs are BeVo woven of synthetic materials.
Has 2 sewn belthook eyelets per position and straps made from lining fabric with 4 eyelets.
Overall length is about 3-5 cm shorter than the Heer tunics.

I just wanted to let you know the jacket arrived yesterday, and I am very pleased with with it. The more I compared it against the examples in vol. II of the Beaver series, the happier I was. It is clear you have done your homework. I think this is the first time I've seen anyone replicate the lining of an SS-cut M43 this closely.
Moreover, the chest darts are there, the chest pockets are nicely raked and all of the details that we fuss about are beautifully executed. It is one of the few replicas that doesn't require the owner to make any excuses for it. On top of that, I finally have a jacket that fits properly...
Needless to say, I am also glad that my money went to an American business and someone so clearly passionate about the reenacting hobby. Thanks for offering these low-cost jackets....
