Stock M37 Trousers
On The March is now offering a stock version of our high end, German-wool trousers. These are made with:
  • imported plain weave wool in charcoal (good match for stonegrey)
  • American-made twill weave wool in fieldgrey
  • American-made twill weave wool in Luftwaffe bluegrey
The pockets and waistband facings are 100% cotton.

The thread is modern grey cotton or polyester thread. The buttons have a reasonably authentic appearance. There are no hand-finish details with the exceptions of hand-sewn buttons and one hand-sewn tack at the center of the fly.

As with our stock feldblusen, the fabrics are not quite as accurate as the high end trousers, but these trousers do offer an alternative at a mild cost-savings.

Due to the amount of labor in making the Keilhosen, we are not currently planning to offer a low-cost version.

Construction Details
Our stock trousers are made using the same patterns as our high-end line, but with less expensive materials. In order to reduce costs, we have eliminated a lot of the labor-intensive hand-finishing:
  • Reduced or no crotch lining
  • Machine finishing on waistband facing
  • Unhemmed—you will need to hem them yourself, or we can machine-hem them for $10 extra
Please note that we do NOT use any fusible interfacing on our trousers. And the waistbands and pockets on these trousers are still 100% cotton.

Hardware
At the waistband are nine 17mm 4-hole punched tin buttons, which have the rims rolled under; however, they look correct from front. For the fly and pockets, we use a 15mm 4-hole black or grey plastic button, the same as the buttons on the stock tunic cuffs.

The backstrap buckle is a 2-tine grey utility buckle or a 2-tine antique brass vest buckle. Either style is correct for these early trousers.

Pre-War Stonegrey Trousers

Our pre-war stonegrey trousers are made using charcoal-colored wool that is a very close match for the original stonegrey color. It is a thicker, heavier wool that will allow you to forgo the longjohns at your early spring and late fall events.
